What Is a Polyaspartic Concrete Coating?
It's a high-performance protective finish applied over existing concrete. It transforms an ordinary floor into a more attractive, easier-to-clean surface designed for real-world use. Here's how it works, what makes it different, and how you can make it your own.

Polyaspartic is a type of resin-based coating chemistry, part of the polyurea family. A professionally installed polyaspartic floor system bonds to a properly prepared concrete surface and cures into a tough, protective layer. Unlike plain concrete, the finished surface can be designed with decorative color, flakes, and texture. It's a coating on your existing floor, not a replacement slab or a simple coat of paint.
The exact layers and materials depend on the condition of your concrete and the selected system. Surface preparation matters enormously: even an excellent coating needs sound, clean, properly prepared concrete underneath it.
More than a good-looking floor.
Durable protection
Properly selected and installed systems resist many everyday scuffs, abrasion, and common spills. Performance depends on the product, use, and maintenance.
Easy everyday cleaning
A finished coating reduces the exposed porosity of bare concrete, making routine sweeping and wiping more manageable.
Attractive finishes
Choose a look that complements your space, from understated neutral tones to bolder decorative flake blends.
Fast-curing technology
Many polyaspartic products cure faster than traditional coating options, though return-to-service time depends on conditions and the specific system.
Light and color stability
Many polyaspartic topcoats offer good resistance to yellowing from UV exposure. Product selection still matters.
Made for useful spaces
Garage floors, suitable basements, utility rooms, and select commercial concrete surfaces can all be candidates after evaluation.
Color, flakes, finish, and texture.
Polyaspartic coatings aren't limited to one plain gray look. Depending on the system and what Bassett offers for your project, you may have options for the appearance and feel of the finished floor.
Color choices
Coating systems can be made in a range of tones, from clean grays and warm neutrals to statement colors. Ask which color selections are available for your floor.
Vinyl color flakes
Decorative flakes can create a speckled, multi-toned appearance and help visually disguise minor dirt and everyday marks. Blend, size, and coverage can change the overall look.
Texture and traction
Depending on the application, suitable texture additives can help tailor the floor's grip. More texture may affect how a surface feels and how it is cleaned.

Stamped concrete is typically created by pressing patterns into concrete while it is being placed. A standard polyaspartic coating does not stamp an existing slab or create deep stone or brick impressions. Decorative looks may be possible through other techniques, but we won't promise stamped-concrete work as a Bassett service without confirming availability.

How a polyaspartic floor comes together.
Evaluate
Check the concrete's condition, existing finishes, cracks, moisture concerns, and intended use.
Prepare
Mechanically prepare and clean the surface as required so the coating has a suitable profile for adhesion.
Coat and customize
Apply the specified coating layers and any selected decorative flakes or texture appropriate for the system.
Cure and enjoy
Allow the installed system to cure according to product instructions before foot traffic, vehicles, or heavy use.
Not every slab is ready for coating as-is. Moisture, movement, contamination, and damaged concrete can affect suitability. A professional assessment helps determine the right approach.
